First Light Casino Celebrates Grand Opening, Bringing World-Class Gaming to the Region

The Welcome Center is now open at 1 O’Connell Way, East Taunton, serving as an exciting first step toward the First Light Casino project. Featuring 40 state-of-the-art slot machines, the Welcome Center offers guests a preview of what will become the region’s premier casino destination and a key economic driver for the area.
The excitement continued March 7, 2025, with the completion of a major expansion to the Welcome Center, adding even more gaming options and enhancing the overall guest experience. But this is just the beginning—when First Light Casino’s full Class III casino opens, it will redefine entertainment in Southeastern Massachusetts with a world-class gaming floor, high-energy table games, top-tier dining, and live entertainment.
Unlike Class II casinos, which are limited to bingo-based gaming, First Light Casino’s Class III designation means it will offer Vegas-style slot machines, live blackjack, poker, roulette, and high-stakes betting, creating a true casino resort experience. As the only Native American casino in the region, First Light Casino represents a landmark achievement for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, ensuring economic growth, job creation, and cultural sustainability for future generations.
